Throwback Thursday: The Roots “Silent Treatment” (Kelo Mix)

A few days ago, I stated that Tribe’s “Bonita Applebum” was my favorite Hip-Hop love song and that “Climax” by Slum Village. A few people responded with their choices. My homie Ron mentioned the raunchily comedic “Secret Fantasies” by Tim Dog while DJ Lil’ Dave suggested “Silent Treatment (Remix)” by The Roots and the latter was the victor. There are a few remixes (Black Thought’s 87 You & Yours Mix, Da Beatminerz, and Questions) of this song but the Kelo version is my favorite though the Black Thought Mix is very, very cold. The Kelo version is very jazz laden track while Black’s Mix (self produced by the emcee himself)is straight up bassline and cold drums.
